New Horizon began as a conversation between two nurses who kept seeing the same gap: after rehab or therapy, people frequently left without the day-to-day support they still needed. Freda, a nurse who once specialized in Alzheimer’s care, and Jessica, a certified drug-and-alcohol counselor, met when Jessica’s husband was installing a sunroom at Freda’s home. They clicked instantly over their shared love of crafting, church life, and—most of all—helping people heal. Within months they had formed a small nonprofit practice, opened a warm, mountain-view office in Chatsworth, Georgia, and started welcoming clients from all over North Georgia.
We exist to give anyone battling addiction, trauma, or major life transitions a safe space to talk, plan, and take action. Every session blends evidence-based techniques—motivational interviewing, CBT-informed exercises, and SMART goal-setting—with genuine empathy and steady accountability. Our goal is simple: help you move from crisis or confusion to clarity, confidence, and measurable progress.
Because financial stress can be its own obstacle, we accept most major insurance plans, offer flexible payment schedules, and reserve a handful of pro-bono slots each month. Everyone who walks through our door—no matter their background, beliefs, or bank account—is treated with respect, privacy, and kindness.
Freda Harrison grew up singing in church and still plays piano on Sunday mornings. Her years in nursing taught her to combine medical knowledge with heartfelt compassion, a balance she now brings to coaching.
Jessica Prince holds multiple certifications in substance-abuse counseling and shares Freda’s passion for creative hobbies and faith community. Together they guide each client with professional expertise and a down-to-earth, “you-can-do-this” attitude.
